Second Unit Again Dooms Hawks

As it did against Miami, the Hawks' second unit allowed the Los Angeles Clippers to turn a manageable 59-55 deficit before the close of the 3rd quarter to an insurmountable 80-65 hole early in the 4th. Anthony Morrow, who erupted for 17 points on 55% shooting in a mere 15 minutes on Friday, did not appear in tonight's contest.

Devin Harris is now 3-for-10 from the field and 1-for-6 from 3-point range in 45 minutes over the last two losses. Am I suggesting that Jeff Teague play 48 minutes per night? No, but it might be time to give Lou Williams more minutes at backup point guard to make way for Morrow at shooting guard.

In July, I raved about the depth of rotation players while pointing out the lack of a small forward on the roster. The Hawks opted not to carry a small forward on the roster to start the season and tonight, Clippers starting small forward Caron Butler and backup Matt Barnes combined for 23 points and 13 rebounds. By comparison, Atlanta's starting forwards Josh Smith and Al Horford combined for 24 points and 11 rebounds.

Has anybody picked up Damion James yet?
